Get your show on Spotify in an afternoon.

If you have never submitted a feed to a podcast directory before, do not worry. The whole thing is a single web form, and you can do it in a quiet afternoon with a cup of coffee. Read through once, then go do it.

1. Find your RSS URL inside Hearthcast. Open your dashboard and look for the feed link next to your show. It is the long https://... URL that ends in .xml. That is the one Spotify wants — copy the whole thing, including the https://. (It is the same link you would paste into any other directory — one feed, every podcast app.)
2. Open Spotify for Podcasters. Go to podcasters.spotify.com and sign in with any Spotify account. The free one is fine. If you do not have one, create one at the same URL — any email works, and you do not need a paid plan.
3. Tap Get started (or + Add a show). If you have not used Spotify for Podcasters before, the homepage will offer the Get started button right at the top. Tap it, then choose New show when asked.
4. Paste your RSS URL. When Spotify asks for the feed link, paste the long https://…xmlURL you copied in step one. Spotify will pull your show's name, description, and cover art straight from the feed, so you should not have to retype anything.
5. Confirm the show details. The form shows the title, description, category, and cover art that Spotify pulled from your feed. Copy these straight from your public Hearthcast show page so the listing matches what listeners see when they find you on the web. The category picker is a free-text field — pick the one that fits; you can change it later without re-submitting.
6. Tell Spotify about yourself. Display name, email, and country — all straightforward creator fields. Nothing here is shown to listeners directly.
7. Hit Submit. That's it. Spotify sends a confirmation email within a few minutes.
8. Wait for Spotify's review. On a normal day it takes about a day, and occasionally two to three. Spotify does not push a status update outside the confirmation email, so a quick daily check on the email address you used is the easiest way to know you have been approved. You do not need to do anything while you wait.
9. Once approved, the show goes live on Spotify. New episodes you publish in Hearthcast after that point get picked up automatically — Spotify refreshes the index every few hours. You do not need to re-submit each episode.
10. What you do not need to worry about.Editing a description, moving a category, swapping cover art — Spotify's dashboard handles all of it later, and Hearthcast will start using the new details the next time the feed refreshes. There is no penalty for going back and tweaking.

How long does Spotify take to approve my show?

Usually a day, sometimes two or three. A small number of listings take a week. If a week passes with no email, check the address you submitted with and write us at the bottom of the page.

Do I have to submit to every podcast directory separately?

Yes, but the good news is one RSS feed serves them all. Paste the same long https://… URL into Spotify, Apple, and anywhere else — Spotify, Apple, Overcast, Pocket Casts, and the rest all read from the same feed.

Do I need a Spotify account to submit?

Yes, but a free one is fine. You can use any email — even one you do not listen to music on. If your email is already on a Spotify account, that one works too.

What about the cover art? Are there size rules?

Yes. Spotify wants a square JPEG or PNG between 1400×1400 and 3000×3000 pixels. The cover you upload in Hearthcast is already sized to fit — no separate export needed.

What if a show already exists on Spotify with my name?

Pick This is my show on the listing page during submission and Spotify will email you what you need to claim it. If that does not work, the human at the bottom of this page can guide you through it.

Do I have to re-submit every time I publish an episode?

No. As long as you publish through Hearthcast, the new episode reaches Spotify within a few hours as part of the same feed.
